4.5.4.1 Voluntary export restraint arrangements (VERs)
Voluntary export restraint arrangements (VERs) are arrangements made by the government or an industry of an exporting country to voluntarily limit exports in order to avoid the imposition of mandatory restrictions by the importing country. They may be effected through:
- Quota agreements;
- Consultation agreements; and
- Administrative co-operation agreements.
