4.1.3.1 Labelling requirements

This measure [Section 44 (3)] provides that irradiated food products for importation or sale in Brunei Darussalam must be labelled with the following words (in English and Malay) printed in letters of not less than 3mm height: TREATED WITH IONIZING IRRADIATION or IRRADIATED (here insert the name of the food). In addition, when an irradiated food is used as an ingredient in another food, this shall be so declared in the statement of ingredients. Furthermore, when a single ingredient product is prepared from a raw material which has been irradiated, the label of the product shall contain a statement indicating the treatment. This measure [Section 246 (4.b)] provides that natural mineral water to be imported into Brunei Darussalam must be: (i) free from parasites and pathogenic micro-organisms; (ii) free from sporulate sulphite-reducing anaerobes in any 50 ml sample examined; and (iii) free from Escherichia coli, other coliforms, faecal streptococci and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in any 250 ml sample examined. 4.1.5.4 Treatment for elimination of plant and animal pests and disease-causing organisms in the final product, not elsewhere specified

This measure [Section 246(3)] provides that natural mineral water to be imported into Brunei Darussalam shall not be subjected to any treatment other than: (a) the filtration or decanting, preceded, if necessary, be oxygenation, to remove the unstable constituents so long as such treatment does not alter the composition of the natural mineral water in respect of its stable constituents.
