4.1.1 Prohibitions and restrictions of imports for SPS reasons
Countries may adopt prohibitions and restrictions on imported products for SPS reasons. Such prohibitions and restrictions include:
- Temporary geographic prohibitions for SPS reasons;
- Geographical restrictions on eligibility;
- Systems approach;
- Special authorisation requirements for SPS reasons;
- Registration requirements for importers; and
- Prohibition or restrictions of imports for SPS reasons not elsewhere specified.
